Since 2012, the Foundation has sponsored a team from the School of Optometry of Hong Kong Polytechnic University to conduct free eye examination to students in rural Xinjiang. To date, two rounds of vision screening have been conducted in Turpan and Yili. In 2014, the vision screening programme was launched in Guangxi and Guilin in 2015.

Students in rural areas often do not have the opportunity or resources for vision screening. With the professional help from PolyU team, this programme identifies students with needs and provide them with free spectacles. The data from screening is also shared with local education authorities and health bureau to help them better understand eye heath issues and needs of children and teenagers in rural areas.
